Use a shared shipping station

Some locations keep one shared computer, called a station, that you unlock with your name and a short PIN instead of a password.

Set your PIN first

Your name appears at a station only after you have set a PIN. Do this once, signed in as yourself on your own computer or phone.

  1. Open the My Account menu and choose Preferences.
  2. Find Station PIN. It shows only for people who could use a station.
  3. Type a new PIN twice. It must be 4 to 6 digits, not one digit repeated and not a straight run such as 1234.
  4. Choose Set PIN.

Your PIN works only at a station. It never signs you in anywhere else, and nobody, including an administrator, can see it.

Unlock the station

  1. A shipping station asks Who is shipping?. A mailroom or receiving station asks Who is working here?. Start typing your name and choose it from the list.
  2. Type your PIN and choose Unlock. If the wrong name is showing, choose Not you?.
  3. Work as usual. The header shows the station's name and yours.
  4. When you step away, choose Lock. The station goes back to its first question for the next person.

What is different at a station

  • It does one job at one location. A shipping station ships from its own location only. You see no prices, reports, settings or administration there, even if your role includes them.
  • Some screens are not there. A station hides Power Ship, Bulk Ship, Approvals and editing the address book. You can void only your own labels there.
  • It locks itself. After a few minutes without a keystroke or click (three, unless your administrator chose another number), the station locks. Work you finished is not lost.
  • Your unfinished work stays yours. A shipment you started and did not finish is not shown to the next person. You find it in your own History the next time you unlock a station or sign in.
  • Five wrong PINs lock you out of that station for 15 minutes. Other stations still work. If you forgot your PIN, set a new one under Preferences, or ask your administrator to clear it. To stop using stations, choose Remove beside your PIN in Preferences.
