For administrators: invite a new user, choose their role, scope and profile, and change or deactivate an existing user.
Administration pages are under Manage. You see the ones your own rights cover. If you administer part of the organization, you see that part only.
Add a user
- Under Manage, choose Users, then New User.
- Fill in Display name and Email. Job title is optional and shows under their name.
- Choose their Home location and Starting role, and their Profile if your organization has profiles.
- Under Role scope, choose Entire organization or Home location. An administrator of part of the organization is not offered Entire organization.
- Choose Create User.
You never set or send a password. The new user gets a welcome email with a single-use link that expires, and creates their own password. If your organization uses single sign-on, their work account links by email address.
Roles, scope and profiles
- Role: what a person can do and see, such as shipping, approving, seeing prices, reports or administration. A feature outside their role is not shown to them at all.
- Role scope: whether the role applies across the entire organization or only at their home location.
- Profile: which carriers, services, packaging and locations a group of users may ship with. A profile with no limit of a kind leaves that kind open. Manage profiles under Manage, Profiles, and use New Profile to add one.
Change or remove a user
Each row on Users offers the actions that fit the user's state: Edit, Deactivate, Reactivate, and Approve or Deny for a pending user. Only a super administrator can deny or deactivate another administrator.
The list's columns are Status, Name, Email, Home location, Roles, Invite, Provisioned and Last sign-in.
Locations
Locations are the places shipments leave from. Under Manage, choose Locations. New Location adds one, and Edit on a card changes it. A user ships from their home location and any others their role allows. Each user can check theirs under My Account, My shipping locations.
